State of the People – Richmond, Virginia Tour Stop

May 16 @ 5:00 pm - May 17 @ 8:00 pm

Friday, May 16: Welcome Reception + Call to Action

5:00 PM – 8:00 PM | The Len – 15 N 17th St, Richmond, VA 23219

Join us for a Welcome Reception as we kick off a powerful weekend of movement building rooted in service, solidarity and strategic action. As national political tensions rise and impact Black communities across the country, we turn our attention to the State of Black Virginia—honoring the legacy of those who came before us as we forge a collective path forward.

This evening is more than a gathering—it’s a call to action and the official launch of a weekend dedicated to power building. We’ll hear from Black leaders across local, state and national levels as they speak to the urgency of this moment, highlight the unique challenges and opportunities facing Black Virginians and challenge us to organize with clarity, courage and commitment.

The reception will feature activations, connection-building and collective visioning—all designed to energize our movement and ground us in the purpose of what’s to come.
