Following the ruling of the Supreme Court to reverse decades of precedent on affirmative action, Robert N. Barnette, Jr, President of the NAACP Virginia State Conference (Virginia NAACP), issued the following statement:
“It is clear that the decision by the Supreme Court will have a negative impact on Virginians. It undermines the progress we have been working towards collectively. But let’s be clear; the Virginia NAACP will not stop fighting for our children to have access to high-quality education.”
The Virginia NAACP calls on all Virginia colleges, universities, and corporations to commit to diversity, no matter what, and sign the Diversity No Matter What pledge.
